Walking Leo, Newenden.

Spring is here and yesterday was sunny but still cold (the extra layers & hat were needed). I went down to paint beside the River Rother at Newenden (thank you Lime Wharf Cafe for letting me use you car park). This time I set up on the other side of the road to try a different view. A friend went past walking her dog on the other side of the river - I made a quick sketch on my palette to include them as it provided scale & interest (thank you Rosie & Leo).

I experimented with a limited palette using Cyan, Magenta, Lemon Yellow, Paynes Grey & White. It was interesting to try and mix from these alone. Glad I tried but I prefer my regular palette.

Oil on board.
