Hut with the Red Roof, Rye Harbour

I enjoyed a wonderful blustery day down at Camber beach. Despite it being so windy, it was wonderful place to be. I found a little dip in the sand dunes which provided me with an element of protection and I set about my first painting looking across the dunes and down the beach, with Dungeness in the far distance (see previous painting "Incoming Tide, Camber").

I then turned my easel 180 degrees and looked across the dunes the other way towards Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. In my sight was the much photographed little black hut with a red roof. I believe it was (perhaps still is) an old fishermans hut - used for storing nets.

Oil on board, 30 x 20 cms.

Available.
